I'm Belén, allways happy exploring the world...
I discovered the Alexander Technique out of a restless search of self-improvement meanwhile hoping to improve the world too. While searching for professional training, I decided to go to Holland in December 2001 to train as an Alexander Teacher. I arrived with a big suitcase and a coat that didn´t keep me warm. In the hostel I found some stairs steeper than I had ever seen in my life … In that moment I started (unbeknown to me) the process of the Alexander Technique: to "think up" in any situation.
After a long training with Tessa and Paul, confronting my habits and working hard to pay the school, I arrived at the day of my graduation and jotted in my notebook:
“Amsterdam, 13th December 2004:
The day to fly has arrived. I'm content, happy, fulfilled, with an inner peace: knowing that everything I do in this life I choose myself.
I’m the one who walks,
I’m the one who looks,
I’m the one who speaks,
I’m the one who laughs.
I’m at peace, very content.”
And today I continue in peace. I continue to choose and I know that I choose to have the time. And it is only those thousandths of seconds of "inhibition" before any action that make me able to choose how I want to be in this world.
The path of exchanging learning and teaching.
